Everyone thinks of AI as robotics. And they’re not that far off. That the true definition is trying to make a computer, replicate the intelligence of a human. There are various components of that most of us familiar but the top four are:
- Machine Learning (ML), which is the ability to understand
- Natural Language Processing (NLP), which is the ability to listen and speak back.
- Vision, which is the ability to see something and recognise something.
- Speech, which is the ability to speak back to us in any language, in a way that makes sense to us.
There are three other components, and one of those is actually robotics. So that’s why people tend to think AI is part of the robotics family.
But really, what we’re trying to do is get all the cognitive ability of humans to work on a computer.
